gifts

Last week I received two awesome gifts!!! The first one was on my wishlist and this kind and gracious person gave it to me as a early surprise birthday gift. Yes, I am now a proud owner of a wrap and I cannot wait to use it. I could have tried it on Rehema but I do not think my doctor's will be thrilled about that idea. To the gracious and kind person: Asante sana rafiki na Mungu akubariki sana.
The second one is a homemade heatpad. It is a bag, like a bean bag, but bigger and it has rice in it. I would say about a pound of rice in it, you warm it in the microwave for two minutes (NO WATER) and then use on sore muscles and other aches. It works and I love it!!! The person who gave it to me does not read blogs etc, but to her, thank you so much.

Here is wishing you all a Merry Christmas!!!

Pelvic Pain

pregnancy calendar

I am having a lot of pelvic pain, I feel like I just want to stay in one place FOREVER. Standing or turning is a challenge. I did not have this with Rehema, but then again, at this time, I was basically lying in bed for the most part. they say it is normal, I wish the pain could go away. I am not sure if it has anything to do with yesterday, we went walking a lot . oh well, better go to sleep, I need to wake up early and go look for a Christmas gift for Rehema...talk about last minute shopping, I hope I will be able to walk.

Progress

pregnancy calendar

Sunday night, Rehema declared that she is not a baby. She said that the baby is in Mommy's tummy and it is going to come home and it will be crying. To me that is Maendeleo, as in progress. She has realised that the baby is coming home and that makes her not a baby any more. I think we are going to be fine.

I am at 33 weeks and I feel like my tummy is going to fall off. I live in the bathroom and a day cannot pass without someone asking me my due date. All in all, God is good!

Sick

We just came back from a mini-vacation and we loved it!! (more about that later) The down-side is that I was battling a cold before we went and I still have a cold. I have been trying to wait it out and it is not going away. I gave in and bought one of the medicines listed by my doctor that I could use, and it is not helping me much. I did take Rehema to the doctor, she was much better when I took her (that always happens) and for once she was willing to do what the doctor was telling her to do. I think I am having braxton hicks and getting up at times is a challenge but in general, I feel fine and God is good.

Minute Clinic

Rehema has not been feeling well so I decided to try the Minute Clinic at CVS before taking her to the doctor. They do charge the same copay as the your regular doctor but it is much faster and so saves you time. I told her what the problem was and she said we should just go to the pharmacy and look for her something over the counter (I had already done that in vain (at Sams)...all the cough and cold medicines are marked see the doctor for children under 6 years). But first she asked to listen to her chest and she told me I need to take her to the peaditrician. She said that in some cases she cannot see children under 10 years. So since it was not a full consultation, I did not have to pay. They also have flu shots, in case you have not got yours already.

7 years!!

Today was our 7th wedding anniversary. Unfortunately, I had to go to work today. We had our Christmas party and also because our unit is being deployed, we had the family briefings that go with that. I and a friend of mine had to take care of about 20 kids as their parents attended the briefings. Sila and Rehema were able to come for lunch later and so we had a good meal together. We are planning to celebrate sometime this week.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY SILA!!

Santa came around in the afternoon and Rehema did not disappoint. When she saw Santa, she was so excited but when her name was called to go and get what Santa had for her, she did not want anything to do with him. It was so funny! but expected. Well, she has not been feeling too good this past week and I think I will take her to the doctor tomorrow.

brother

We have been preparing Rehema for the coming of her brother and she does seem to be catching on. She talks to him a lot. Today she received an early Christmas gift from one of my friends to help in that. She was really excited when she saw this doll especially because this one came with a bottle with 'milk'.

It really does look like a new born baby, she told me that it does not have any hair unlike Dora.

She asked me for a blanket to cover the new doll

found it!

I went to work and told my friend what happened to my memory card and she told me that her friend too lost hers in Walmart and they told her to call, and when she called they told her that when they opened the machine, her memory card was not there??? okay...
so, I called Sam's Club in the evening and they told me that they would call me, and a few minutes later they called me and told me they have it. it was hanging on the wall with my name of it. Now, I love Sam's Club, just a little more!! My card was intact.

30.5 weeks

I went for my doctor's appointment. I was met with a new? receptionist who informed me that I owed a copay and I asked her why because the way my maternity coverage works, I pay the first copay and then I will owe 10% of the total doctor's fees (global fees). If I come in for something else rather than a regular check up, then I have to pay a copay. She informed again that I owe for all appointments I have had without paying a copay, well, I looked at her like she was crazy and asked her like for the 10 or so appointments??. I have been checking my EOBs and I know I do not owe any copays. So she went and asked someone and she was told that I only owe the doctor's fees. So much for being new?? Well, 45 minutes later I was out of the doctor's office and things are looking good.

I had a duh! moment today and now my 1 GB memory card with my million pictures is sitting is some photo processing machine. I always use the other memory card and did not know that I needed an adaptor ? (which is in my camera bag) to insert this particular memory card. They told me that I have to wait until the technician comes and then they will call me. The consoling part was that he said it happens every week. duh!
